数学家，主要从事代数群与量子群领域研究。1963年3月生于广东省英德。1981年毕业于湖南怀化师范专科学校（现怀化学院）数学科，1985年、1988年先后获华东师范大学数学系硕士、博士学位。2009年当选中国科学院院士。
